In addition to its beaches, Benicassim is very popular because of the natural area of Las Palmas desert, where tourists can enjoy spectacular views and pleasant hiking routes. You can take advantage of the excursion to visit the convent of the Barefoot Carmelites or the hiking route to the Miravet castle.

If you like hiking, you should not miss the walk along the Via Verde del Mar, which links the towns of Benicassim and Oropesa del Mar along the old railway line that used to connect the two towns. Starting at Voramar beach, this is a route of just over 5 km that hides many secrets, such as the watchtowers of Corda and Colomera, or the Iberian settlement of Oropesa la Vella. It can be done on foot or by bicycle.

For the little ones, Benicassim offers a plan that they won't want to miss, it offers one of the most emblematic water theme parks: Aquarama. With a surface area of more than 40,000 square metres of pools and slides for all members of the family to enjoy.

What to eat in Benicassim?

In Benicassim you can enjoy a Mediterranean gastronomy made up of meats (don't miss the rosemary lamb), local vegetables with the fish and seafood that the sea has to offer.

Enjoy traditional dry rice dishes, such as cauliflower and cod rice, vegetable rice, arroz a banda or baked rice. You can also try broth dishes, such as rice with chard. Other dishes you can't miss are all i pebre, putxero or cauliflower al tombet.
